couple of quickies...

Clemens is vehemently denying the mitchell report that he ever took steroids. Andy Pettite is taking the non-statement approach. Its odd to see clemens denying this report. But again you need to remember that the entire report is based on hearsay. I, personally, have not made any opinions based on the report yet and will probably take a couple of days to do so. I will be interesting to see how this pans out...

i have ALREADY heard an ESPN analyst state he will now NEVER vote for Clemens for the hall of fame. A bold statement to say the least, considering he is arguably the greatest pitcher ever and this is a fuzzy allegation that was only released TODAY!!!

yeah thats just plain stupid. Even if I found out that clemens truely took steroids, I would absolutely vote for him. And like you said, this report does not prove he took the juice...

Even if I had taken the juice, there is no question that I, my agent, and my lawyer would all come out denying the report as strong as words will allow. The accusations were all made by sources who were all in trouble with the law anyway - it's just a "he-said-she-said" argument in the case against most players who were named.

I want to believe the players for as long as I can, and even then - juice only gets you so far, players like Clemens were still incredibly talented!
